Another quick post today- it is my sweetheart of a husband's birthday is TODAY! Yay! After we get the kids off to school we are out the door for a day of playing hooky! I just love it when he takes a day off mid-week just for fun. Now, today's card was made for him and if you are seeing this post he has already opened it! (yep- he reads my posts!)
The sketch comes form Stamping 411- great ideas over there- simple layouts that you can do as much or as little as you want to it and it will look great! Raise the Bar gave us the challenge of using the colors of our bedroom-perfect for a birthday card from me to him don't ya think?
Pixie Cottage chimes in with a challenge to make your own charms- oh, yeah- I can do that! I got the idea for this charm from the stamp set Lots of Bots- one of the stamps is an image of a screw and some nuts- now if that doesn't suit the two of us, I don't know what would! ;) I found the hardware in my hubby's workshop- he'll never miss a few random bits of metal- they didn't look like they were holding anything important together anyway!
The gray background was done with the amazing Square Lattice embossing folder and the Big Shot. So was the Perfect Plum piece- to keep it interesting I simply showed the reverse side of the pattern. I stamped my images so nicely with the help of the stamp-a-ma-jig, colored Mr. Bot up handsome and stuck er, I mean, placed him on a pedestal 'cause every Birthday Boy should be honored!
Have a lovely day folks,
Keep on Inking!
