Wow! This card is so bright! I love it! Today is a very windy, gray day with a definite chill in the air so these bright warm colors are so appreciated!
The sketch is from the Caardvaark's challenge. I love a simple sketch that I can really go to town with, don't you? We have three new challenge sites that we are playing with these days! I found a lovely list via a link on the Aud Sentiments site, so many new places to hang out!The gals over at Cowgirl's Sunday had an easy one this week- anything goes! I am looking forward to some fantastic ideas from them in the future!
Paper Sundaes suggested that we use mixed mediums- so I inked the large flower (from petal pizzazz) and for the small flower ( from friends never fade), I used a blender pen and ink refills to achieve a water color look. Lastly I grabbed the silver smooch ink and highlighted all the small dots on the background layer.
Our friends at Stamptacular Sunday were looking for some distressing...hence the lovely aged look! I cut out all the flowers and then rolled the edges a few times. I also did this to the poppy layer and the mambo strips. For the mambo strips I used two layers of both the card stock and the ribbon. It really gives a great weight to the card and balances the flower nicely.
Lastly, we have Stamp With Us- another Stampin' Up! centered blog! They have this lovely picture of three lipsticks- and they left it up to us what colors we thought they resembled best. So I chose, Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango and Poppy Parade! I wasn't too sure how these were going to work out when I first pulled the card stock- but I really love how it turned out!
Have a great day all- er, night actually! Today sure was busy- sorry it took me so long to get this posted
Keep on Inking!
Katt
