Good Morning! We are having a prequel to fall today! Yup- that's me- ever the optimist-there just has to be some more warm sunny days before the seasons change- right? Sorry you didn't see me yesterday, it was the first day of school for my son and I kinda let the freedom go to my head! I got soooo much done- including a long lunch with a good book!
Today's card is a sweet little witch already searching out her Halloween treats! The sketch comes by way of Pixie Cottage this week. I really like the simplicity of this layout and the fact that it works so well with the "stripes" challenge from Meljen's is a bonus I couldn't overlook!
The color combo is straight from the Play Date Cafe- such yummy fare served up every week over there! Rich Razzleberry, Crumb Cake and More Mustard? I never would have thought they would look so darn great together! The dsp is from the set Travel Journal, which I am just now realizing is recently retired. (I must remember to pull that paper, as well as the other items from the Summer mini when I am done here.) Anywhich-way, I used it because it has a subtle stripe in the pattern as well as the crumb cake color.
Today I am also playing along with the Res-Q challenge. The task there was to use our scissors and as I cut out the witch, her broom and free hand cut the sentiment I believe this qualifies nicely!
Just when I thought I was done with my design I found the Pearls and Lace challenge over at Simon Says. What girl can resist that combination? My lace is the paper variety, created using the Dotted Scallop Border punch. I used pearls from the Jewels collection to round out the card. As I am looking at it, and writing this, I realize that the pearls look like little candies-perfect with the sentiment from the Fang-tastic set.
One last challenge I am entering this card into is from Stamp Something... they made it super easy this week and are looking for all things cute! If this little witch isn't cute then I need new glasses!
Have a great weekend! Can you believe it is already Friday?
Keep on Inking!
Katt
That might be the cutest witch I've ever seen! I love the cat and bats too! Great work once again :)
Thanks so much for entering the Simon Says Stamp Challenge!!!
