Good day all! Wow! Can you believe it? It is time for school already! My son does not start until September 2nd but my nieces down in Alabama started last week! (Hidee-ho Caitlin and Hannah!)
This adorable little book is for writing down homework assignments... well, at least that is my plan! What Caitlin does with it we shall see! For making the book itself I used the Bind-it-All system. I was able to decide the size of my book based on my design for the sketch. For the front and back cover I used a piece of the heavy card board that our specialty 12 x 12 paper comes packaged with and cut it down to 4 x 5 1/2. The inside pages are simple lined school paper that was cut to 3 3/4 x 8 1/4. I used our anywhere glue stick to attach all the elements as it has a stronger hold than the snail adhesive and this little book will be getting used, unlike a card! The sketch for the front cover comes from Taylored Expressions- as soon as I saw this sketch I just knew I had to make a little book with it! The colors are from Arielle at Colour Q- Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi and Baja Breeze- with some vanilla thrown in for a neutral. What kind of book was dictated by the following two challenge blogs: Stamping Royalty and Our Creative Corner- they are both featuring a back to school theme this week. As I was finishing up the front cover I realized that the design fit in with Meljen's challenge as well- to use the same image twice on your card. Well, that leaf from French Foliage (told ya you'd be seeing that one a lot!) behind my ABC's appears three times and as two is less than three I think its okay to link it up!
This design is all basic so there is not much to talk about- with it going together so quickly I have time to go cook up some fun with my boy! Have a great day y'all and
Keep On Inking!
Katt
P.S. Caitlin- I will be mailing you this tomorrow! Give it a few days to get there before you start asking Mommy when it will arrive! Love ya sweetie!
