Here is my card for today! Didn't it turn out cute? I started with a sketch challenge from CPS. I love the way they are always thinking outside my box- IE: basic A4 sized cards. This one measure 3 x 6, I think it is a fun size to work with, a little extra room for creating but not so big as you end up feeling intimidated. When it came time to choose my stamps it was a no brainer! We have this amazing ice cream stamp set available in the Summer Mini (only two more days!!!!) and Sophisticat thought it was time to remember the kids and make a card geared to them. This card speaks to the child in all of us though doesn't it? ;) I am thinking it would be a great card to include a certificate for a trip to the local ice cream shop inside- hand crafted of course!
My colors come from Arielle at Color Q- I have yet to see a combo there that I didn't fall in love with immediately- you should really haunt her blog, the art over there is fabu-luscious! Anyone who can get me creating with Cameo Coral has some talent I tell you!
Notice all the hardware on the card? Tee-hee- how could you not? I found a new site to surf to in the mornings...The Crazy Challenge! Their latest challenge was to use buttons, eyelets and brads-- one, two or all if we could manage it! I think that using a clear button keeps it from being overdone. [Note: The post is in Bulgarian but thanks to Google translate that is no problem whatsoever.] The team there is chock full of beautiful ideas, I try to enter challenges where the design team makes me think "oooh, I wish I could design like that!" it keeps me growing as an artist, know what I mean?
Three of my layers were run through the Big Shot with a three different texturz plates- I didn't do anything to the Cameo Coral layer as not much was going to show. The white layer used the words that come in the texturz kit #4- it is very subtle but it can be seen better in real life. I also sponged some Sage Shadow around the white layer to connect the two uses of the color on the top a d bottom portions of the card. The ice cream cone was stamped on left over white cs, clear embossed, cut out and layered up on dimensionals. All n all a cute little card- this one looks good enough to eat!
Have a great night and
Keep on Inking!
Katt
