Good Morning! At least it was morning when I started- computers. make. me. crazy. 'nuff said!
Today's card was so much fun to make! I don't usually make a card like this. Don't get me wrong, all the elements are very much my style. I just don't typically use so many elements all a the same time!
The sketch comes from Mojo Monday- there was a choice between round or square and since there are two sites to play at today, Penny's Paper Crafty and another new site- Meljen's looking for shaped cards- round was the natural way to go. The Big Shot was used twice today- once to cut out the large scallop and again to use the Manhattan embossing folder for the banana layer. I trimmed the smaller flower out and layered it over my homemade background paper. I went over the embossed lines with a banana marker to make sure that work was not lost within all the other details.
Speaking of homemade background paper, I added this element for Crafty Creations. When I saw that challenge I chuckled 'cause I love making my own dsp! The sketch had a border along the top edge that begged to be punched! (uh-oh- some of my anger at the computer slipped through there- sorry!) Seriously though, a reason to use the pinking heart punch- cool! I also used a punch for the small scalloped circle in old olive. Stamping Royalty is behind all this punching today- I had wanted to use a third but it was just too over the top for me!
Split Coast is responsible for the colors today- Love, love, love Betty's colors- but you already know how much I love her combos! Another Split Coast challenge over at Free 4 All is to create a card to celebrate May Day tomorrow- which requires lots of flowers, and this card certainly fits that bill. I used a flower stamp from the Fifth Avenue Floral set to set off the small scallop and keep in theme with the embossed area. I already know which neighbor is getting this card tomorrow- with a cone of May-bells of course!
I used the Circle Scissors Plus to get those perfect circles that anchor this card down. All that I added to this layer was a simple thank you from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set. That means I can add this to the challenge site ABC, since they are on the letter "T" for thank you!
That makes 8 challenges for this one little card- that might be a record for me so I am going to post it on the Pile It On blog- that site is all about combining challenges along with a challenge of their own. This week it was to make it sweet- and this card looks like a piece of candy to me! Ya know, it is good to know that I am not alone in my little obsessions!
Keep On Inking!
Katt
