The challenge over at Splitcoast today was to try a new technique. I have done plenty of "futzy" work in the past but this one was super fun! Paper quilting-and it is just what it sounds like. I have a friend who quilts and I thought of giving her a call for inspiration but she's at her job so... here is my attempt!
I am not sure where the stitching was supposed to go so I am going for the perfect invisible stitch -what do you think?
A tip for you- to get those nice straight lines without a major headache use your scorer to create a grid on neutral card stock (I used very vanilla). Then simply run snail adhesive in the resulting boxes and stick on your quilt pieces. To get my blocks I stamped three different backgrounds on a single sheet of very vanilla and then cut it into 3/4" strips, then again into 3/4" squares.
The flower was stamped on scored paper and then cut out. To get the lines on the flower, I folded the paper on the score lines and then dragged it over my artichoke ink pad.
I love this color combo! The rich razzleberry and always artichoke looked okay with the very vanilla, but I really needed more of a pop given the technique... then when I tried cameo coral with it I got a great big smile! Hope you like it too!
Keep on Inking!
