as many of you know, I have a brand new obsession: YOGA!
and I am in deep :)
and as everything in life, it gave me some great business insight (because that is how my brain rolls)
I have always liked working out, but I like to do my own thing. I am not one to take a class. Instead I jump on the treadmill and use it as an excuse to watch "Real Housewives of just about anything", or go for a walk or bike ride and then life some weights.
I was never intrigued with taking a class and you might be surprised why. I am terrible at small talk! It is the same reason I am not a big fan of doing workshops. Shh, don't tell!
You want to talk politics, religion, education, Why Bethenny Frankel was an awesome Housewife, I am your girl!
But to talk just to talk, ugh!
But when people go to Yoga they don't want to talk, they want to get centered before class. So everyone comes in, hops on their mat, relaxes and is quiet. Who knew?!
So yesterday I decided to try Hot Yoga
and I was nervous
and anxious
would I like it?
would I make a fool of myself?
what if it was too hard?
Well I almost chickened out but I had already bought the "towel mat" you need for hot yoga
and MORE yoga clothes. Apparently you can't wear regular yoga clothes to hot yoga (this yoga thing has the marketing DOWN!)
And you know what?
hot yoga is like regular yoga but it is hot
shocker, huh?
sure, I did sweat a little more, which is why you go, but I did just fine.
In fact I liked it
And yes, I signed up for more classes.
So what is my business take away?
At one time I thought of myself as
a treadmill person
a non class person
a non yoga person
a non hot yoga person
and now I am a yoga fan, telling everyone I know how awesome it is
the same holds true for our businesses.
At one time I was:
a non direct sales person
a non recruiter
a non stamp club person
a non convention goer
a non profitable business owner
a non blogger
a non instagram user
a non youtube person
and now look at me
and now look at you
don't get caught up in what type of business you have now to the detriment of the business you can have tomorrow.
don't let the thoughts of what you are good at, what you don't like, how you have always done things get in the way of changing, growing and expanding your business
Try new things
Push yourself
the best you is still out there, go find it!
Be Inspired!
