Good afternoon! I have another Christmas card to share with you all today...the clock is ticking you know! I decided to participate in the birthday challenge over at Colour Q this week! It is their 1 year celebration this past week- 52 different gorgeous color combos and they are showing no sign of slowing down either!
The challenge today was a combo of a sketch and choosing our favorite color pairing of the last year. I chose week number 46, I just loved these colors then and they still bring a smile to my face now. The twist being that this was a summer themed inspiration photo, and I need holiday cards! Fortunately these colors worked out beautifully!
The Creative Card Crew was hoping we'd get crazy with flowers, and while this card is not overwhelmed with blooms, there are quite a few poinsettias floating about. I also tried out the new technique at Splitcoast- stamping on tissue paper. The vertical border is created using this method, I had a really hard time photographing it to show all the details- here is a close up so you can (hopefully) see how pretty it turned out!
You can see the wrinkled look and the shimmer that was achieved by spritzing the tissue paper with water that had been doctored up with a little bit of Frost White Shimmer paint. Also, here is a close-up of the center image, there is lots of dimension going on with this card!
Have a great day y'all!
Keep on Inking!
Katt
