Vinatge Vogue, Best Wishes & More

Good morning all!  I am having a great day and I hope you are too!   Wow! How did it get to be Thursday again so fast? 

Today's offering was created with this Split Coast sketch as a starting point:

  When I sat down with this layout I immediately thought of using a fancy fold to really show off all those layers!  The one I went with is a Joy fold card, it is really fun for the recipient to open up and reveal the inside.  The colors came from Color Q - blush blossom, regal rose, close to cocoa and chocolate chip!  Yummy!

I wanted to follow the sketch as closely as I could- to do this I created matching background layers, inside and out.  The second layer was stamped in regal ink to dress up the piece without drawing too much attention to it.  Layer three is the flap portion of the fold.  First I scored a grid onto the chocolate chip and then layered apricot appeal under some shimmery white.  I changed the word "friends" to "love" to keep with a Valentine theme as requested by Stamping Royalty this week.  Add in a great quote and the card starts to really shape up!



For the fourth layer- the circle was an easy one to figure out but that rectangle took a bit more thought.  I finally hit upon the idea of using it to anchor a bow!  I had some left over skewer in the tool caddy so onto the card it went- why not?  :)
I am entering this card in the Crafty Creations challenge as well, if this card doesn't celebrate Friends I don't know what would!
