WOW! Love, Love, Love these colors! They are so me... the type of combo I gravitate to naturally-- Of course, since it was a challenge, I wanted to be using all sorts of other colors, however, except for the star, I managed to control myself! I mixed the greens and the plums to create the brown for Mary's hair and Joseph's staff, so technically I am still in bounds! =^.^=
I used Bordering Blue craft ink and clear embossing powder for the swirls from Baroque Blossoms and for the outline of my Holy Family image from Holy Triptych. The star is Summer Sun craft ink,(I used my stampin' spots craft inks to apply the color without also getting Joseph's head...) I then water colored the garments using re-inkers and the aqua painter. --and yes, I did use water color paper! For the halos and the star I used Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds for a soft shimmer- which unfortunately does not show up very well online. Please just imagine how pretty it is... ;)
My finishing touches were to ticket corner punch the family, drop in some silver brads, tie a pretty bow with silver stretchy cording and top it off with a Sage Shadow edge created with the Scallop Edge punch. Oh! I popped up the family image with dimensionals--of course!
Thinking of playing along too? Head on over to
K. Werner's blog for the official rules-- they are very simple, no worries!
Keep on Inking!
